BMW is one of the well acclaimed manufacturers for its designs and overall engineering capabilities. The automotive industry desperately needs cars to be emitting less carbon dioxide and also to be more fuel-efficient. The switch has been gaining momentum over the past decade and there isn’t a single company that does not have a green car. However the general public is still not buying them and others would buy a used bmw 3 series over a Honda Insight.
However, mostly in cars are either underpowered or have got all the luxury features stripped out in order to save weight and petrol. So from an engineering achievement is nothing special about starting a consumer of the wonderful features. The trick is double the car that is as admirable also with high-performance but doing it with improved efficiency.
BMW is the first carmaker to produce a luxury car that is the carbon dioxide emissions under 100 g/km. The 320 ED has amazing figures of 109g/km and 69 mpg. These figures are really not that difficult to achieve somebody can simply build a car that uses one person, has no air conditioning or no form of entertainment. But the one amazing story here is that all the cool features of a three series are retained.
